The Physical Web is an open approach to enable quick and seamless interactions with physical objects and locations.

Hyper-local access to anything from your phone.

It enables you to see a list of URLs being broadcast by objects in the environment around you. Any object can be embedded with a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) beacon, which is a low powered, battery efficient device that broadcasts content over Bluetooth.

The Physical Web represents the convergence of the digital and physical worlds. It is a powerful technology, enabling a decentralised, open source, and public interests safeguarding while protecting our consumer privacy.

The mission of the association is for the Physical Web to be an open standard that will eventually be built into the OS of every smartphone and tablet.
